Economic infrastructure refers to the infrastructure that supports the production activity of the economy and works like a support system for the economic development of the economy. It includes construction of roads, dams etc. Whereas Social infrastructure works as a driving force for the social development of the economy. It includes Schools, colleges, hospitals etc.
Both economic and social infrastructure are crucial for the economic as well as development of the economy. As economic infrastructure helps in promoting production and helps in increasing the market size with that it also helps in inducing the investment. On the other hand, social infrastructure helps in increasing social welfare and providing basic facilities to the underprivileged section of the economy.
